Stormy Weathers

Carlyn by a fallen Poplar

The Nurture Project’s woodland walk was recently ravaged by Storm Aidan. Although it’s always sad to see trees down, in particular native species such as Oak and Beech, I always take heart in the knowledge that woods are masters of regeneration. Sure we give our woods a helping hand but do so by managing them ‘lightly’ in the hope that nature takes it’s course. Whilst this approach might not always present the woodland picture postcard we reap the benefits in other ways with wildlife and biodiversity, not to mention enjoyment for those spending time in our therapeutic woodland setting. Wilding…..the Nurture Project way!
