Partnership with Wells Community Hospital Trust

We are delighted to have launched a new gardening programme to support adults living with mild to moderate ill health, in partnership with our friends at the Wells Community Hospital Trust. The new pilot programme offers a variety of gardening experiences, as well as indoor horticultural activities, drawing on the therapeutic value of horticulture on both a physical and emotional level. This type of therapy is an innovative and creative approach to help people living with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety or stress and the new programme offers the opportunity for a small group to work in the lovely gardens at the Wells Community Hospital Trust. Trained therapists build a set of specific activities for each member to improve their particular health needs and to work on clear therapeutic goals.

Samantha Taylor, the Wells Community Hospital Trust’s General Manager – “We offer a wide range of flexible and integrated health and wellbeing services for adults living in Wells-next-the-Sea and surrounding communities. To be able to also offer horticultural therapy as part of our service package is very exciting.”
